Monday 27th February – Secrets of the Solent – illustrated talk by Wildlife Trust marine biologist Rayner Piper on the project being undertaken to identify and protect the waters of the Solent.

Monday 27th March – **Cotton Top Tamarins ** – Dr Miranda Stevenson will talk about her work in Colombia and conservation in general, with a focus on two endemic species – the cotton-top tamarin and the white footed tamarin. Miranda is a Trustee of the World Land Trust.

Sunday 9th April – Dawn Chorus Walk – meet by Scout HQ in Hoe Road Recreation ground – entry from Hoe Road. Meet 5.15am. Warm jackets and boots. £5 including cooked breakfast at Scout HQ. New route! Booking essential.

Monday 24th April – Quiz Night! – Team of 6 – bring a group or make up a team on the night! Mixed questions – wildlife and general knowledge. Led by George Belfield – £2 per head. Raffle! Donations welcome for refreshments.

Sunday 7th May – Bluebell Walk – meet at 2.30pm at the Horse & Jockey pub Curbridge for a walk alongside the Hamble River. Bring your binoculars!

Friday 9th June – Nightjar Walk – meet at the Roebuck Inn, Droxford Road, Kingsmead, Fareham (onA32) – we will be leaving around 8.15pm. Warm clothing and boots and bring a torch as it will be dark. Booking essential.

Friday 23rd June – Claylands Walk – Orchids, Butterflies and Birds** – meet 2.30pm at Claylands Nature Reserve, Bishops Waltham.

Sunday 9th July COUNTRYSIDE FAYRE – on The Moors – entrance in Cricklemede. Parking in town centre or Hoe Road Recreation Ground. 11am – 3pm. Central feature – THE HAWK CONSERVANCY – plus stalls covering local wildlife, countryside and environmental groups, a BBQ, children’s activities, guided walks. No entry fee. Donations welcome.

Monday 24th September – The Eelmoor Marsh project – Tim Woodfine, Director of Conservation, Marwell Z00 will give a presentation on the project.

Monday 23rd October – Leather Backed Turtles – Bill Bullimore will talk about his aerial survey work in the British Virgin Islands.
