Parking and Public Transport

Getting here by car

  • If using a Sat Nav use the postcode SO32 1AA to get to the High Street.

  • From Winchester take the B2177 towards Bishop’s Waltham/Wickham.

  • From Wickham take the B2177 towards Bishop’s Waltham/ Winchester.

  • From Corhampton take the B3035 towards Bishop’s Waltham.

 

Parking

There are 2 car parks offering free parking for 1 hour (although you still need to get a ticket from the machine) and free all day on Sunday.   There is free motorcycle parking in both.  In addition, there is a 3rd car park, Jubilee Hall car park offering 2 hours free parking.

Jubilee Hall car park is operated by the Parish Council and has the facility to book season tickets for £360 per year for your own parking space.
 

Electricity charging points are available at Jubilee Hall car park and Basingwell Street car park.

The Parkopedia website and app allows you to find car parks all over the UK and look at opening times and costs - very useful!

Public Transport

Travelling by bus

All buses stop in St. George’s Square at the bottom of the High Street.

​

Buses run Monday to Saturday between Bishop’s Waltham and:

  • Southampton (X10)

  • Eastleigh (X9)

  • Winchester (No. 69)

  • Fareham (No. 69)

  • Petersfield (X17) (Wednesdays only)

Travelling by train

The nearest train station is Botley and the X9 bus from there will take passengers to Bishop’s Waltham in around 25 minutes. Click here for information

Community Transport

Bishop's Waltham Minibus

A Dial-a-Ride service operates to take passengers from their home in Bishop's Waltham or the surrounding villages to the town centre.  This service is primarily for the elderly and less able.  The return fare is £2.


Times: Pick up from home at approx 09:00.  Drop off at Town Centre or Sainsbury's.  Return from St George's Square at 11:00.  To book, call 01489 893125.

Transport is also provided for the weekly lunch clubs in the Jubilee Hall.  Wheelchair passengers can be accommodated.  Book through the lunch club organisers.
